Ok, so in R6/Destiny 2 you will benefit from the 144hz due to the fast action but in games like AC: Odyssey you won't really see the difference between 75/144hz. If it's "worth it" is only something you can determine. I used to play at 144hz on a 16:9 monitor all the time then tried 2560x1080P/75hz/IPS and absolutely love it over my previous 16:9/144hz/1080P panel. I don't play as many competitive FPS as I used to however when I do jump back into one such as BF4 I don't feel like I'm lacking due to having 75hz instead of 144hz and I do like the extra peripheral view of 21:9. Ultra wide may be something to consider as it would fit into your budget and those games do support it...i7-4770 16GB ram
What CPU do you have?I am not really interested in colour. I play games like R6, assassin's creed and Destiy 2. My most important question is, is if my gpu (1060) will be good enough for 144hz, or would I have to turn down the setting to low to achieve that fps. There's about 70 dollars difference between the monitors that I am looking at. Or would it be better if just went for a 75hz one?

How much fps loss would I encounter if the resolution was 2560x1080, how much less fps than using 1920x1080?Ok, so in R6/Destiny 2 you will benefit from the 144hz due to the fast action but in games like AC: Odyssey you won't really see the difference between 75/144hz. I can't give you an exact answer as it's going to vary from game to game but my build is similar so I can tell you what I get in Destiny 2 & AC: Odyssey. How much fps loss would I encounter if the resolution was 2560x1080, how much less fps than using 1920x1080?
