[SOLVED] I have a GTX 1060 6GB, should I get a 75Hz or 144hz monitor (1080p)

Ok, so in R6/Destiny 2 you will benefit from the 144hz due to the fast action but in games like AC: Odyssey you won't really see the difference between 75/144hz. If it's "worth it" is only something you can determine. I used to play at 144hz on a 16:9 monitor all the time then tried 2560x1080P/75hz/IPS and absolutely love it over my previous 16:9/144hz/1080P panel. I don't play as many competitive FPS as I used to however when I do jump back into one such as BF4 I don't feel like I'm lacking due to having 75hz instead of 144hz and I do like the extra peripheral view of 21:9. Ultra wide may be something to consider as it would fit into your budget and those games do support it...
Honestly depends on what games you play and your price range. I personally would never buy a TN panel, I'd go for an IPS, or even VA panel. TN has awful color, but has the benefit of being very cheap, and is easily capable of 120+ Hz; I think this: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C32V1Q-1...itor+75hz&qid=1552319191&s=electronics&sr=1-4 is a good compromise of color, refresh rate, and price, just still at 1080p.

edit: @WildCard999 pretty much hit the nail on the head regarding the question. Definitely look in to the different color options though! (TN vs VA vs IPS vs HDR)

I am not really interested in colour. I play games like R6, assassin's creed and Destiy 2. My most important question is, is if my gpu (1060) will be good enough for 144hz, or would I have to turn down the setting to low to achieve that fps. There's about 70 dollars difference between the monitors that I am looking at. Or would it be better if just went for a 75hz one?

How much fps loss would I encounter if the resolution was 2560x1080, how much less fps than using 1920x1080?
