you have the card inserted into the pcie lane but not connected to the power supply?

the card needs to be fully seated in the pcie lane and connected to the power supply to work. connect the monitor to one of the outputs on the video card and load windows. you will get a basic vga driver upon loading windows. go to the nvidia website and download and install the latest nvidia graphics drivers.

after all that is done, you can load up msi afterburner and you should have no problems.
