I have a hp pavillion a 522n, it won't boot. I just see the light from the power button blinking and in the back. It started acting up after a stormy night. I didn't have the computer on so I cannot understand how it is possible that the lighting might affect the computer. How can I fix it? I want to do it on my own. Thanks.

A lot of HPs have flashing light codes as well as beeps to indicate some problems. Try looking at the link below which may be of help. Hopefully it is something simple and easy to fix. Alas, unless the PC is pretty much isolated from the mains i.e. unplugged and any mains attached peripherals it is possible if there is a really nasty power surge for damage to be done
