I have a Lenovo Y410 and have a question

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Y410 series laptop. Its display has gone, since its an old laptop i want to utilize its hard disk drive.
I want to remove its hard disk drive and use it as external hard disk as i dont want to loose my important data.
Please help me out with size of HDD so that i can buy a cover/case with usb.
Does i need to check any other specifications or any cover will do?

Your laptop has the SATA port for the HDD (160GB), so you only need get one USB 3.0 or 2.0 to SATA Adapter, that will be like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812226048

This one is for all 2.5" SATA hard drives (from laptop), but not for the 3.5" SATA hard drives (from desktop).
