So last night i updated my nvidia driver or the day before i cant remember as it was the overwatch update and i bought the game and wanted the driver for it, since then my graphics card appears to be OC itself for no reason from boot up, now i have had this issue before but it is usually resolved by doing a complete uninstall of the drivers and reinstalling the driver with a clean install, this time that does not seem to be working at all ive tried it 3 times now each time using DDU to do a complete uninstall. Im at a loose end idk what to do i have contacted MSI and they just said to try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver which has not done anything and they say this is an "odd case" which is untrue i have seen many people with this issue which is usually resolved by reinstalling the driver in my case not i cant even roll back the driver now to see if it is just an issue with the new driver as i have completly uninstalled the old one what shall i do is anyone else having this issue? it seems to be oc by 899mhz 3505mhz according to msi afterburner and hw monitor temps are above 50-60 degrees in idle which before this driver update they were at 30-40 on idle please i need help what shall i do?

Ahh i found the issue it because i have my new 144hz monitor on with a 60hz monitor it seems to oc it idk what to do i either have to run my monitor on a lower refresh rate which defeats the purpose of owning a 144hz monitor or just use one monitor it seems its fine when its on 120hz it seems to downclock but not when its on 144hz anyone else had this issue and know of any ways around it?

I just tried that and it seems to be the same idk what is going on lol and its the same for me around 20 percent idle with literally nothing open from boot MSI have no idea why what a surprise waste of time contacting them

Just tried rolling back 2 drivers and still the same result im not sure what to do i cant get it to downclock i really need help with this one i guess i could try reseating it

yeah when you use 2 screens you force the driver to run near max. i just use 1 screen of my 2 when im doing day to day and use the other when im either gaming or doing productivity.

i rolled back to the 361 driver and my gpu temp dropped by 4'c which is still 5 or so 'c higher than when i got it new. then again that was winter. its nearly summer now. so it may just be the ambient temps have gone up for me.
