I have a netgear g54/n150 wireless usb micro adapter

and I cant get it to work on my lenovo pc. The pc is in another room about 8-10 yards away. The correct connection shows up and it is scanning like its looking and the task bar shows green for a few seconds and then says it can get a connection

aree you using the netgear software or windows to control the wireless?
