i have a i5 7400 cpu what mobo is compatible with this cpu?

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish here, but look for motherboards with an B250 or Z270 chip set. These should be compatible with your CPU without the need for a BIOS update.

You may be able to reuse the CPU, but that is often what is a high priority upgrade. To use the old CPU, you will have to buy a compatible motherboard -- like what you have now.

So whether the reuse plan makes sense depends on why you are doing the upgrade.

You can reuse your old 1TB drive as a storage drive, just wait to install it until after you install Windows on your planned new SSD.
