I have a printer on my vista sysem and want to print from my laptop how do i set

Hello,
I have a printer set up on my desktop with Vista, and I want to access the printer through my laptop which has Win7 , I think i have set it up wrong because when i send a document to print from my lap top it just sits there and does nothing, what am I not doing.

If so can you see it from your laptop?
