Here is what happened, I was watching a video on my hard drive and moving files to it, suddenly it frozen, so I unplugged and plugged it again, but it did not work, it did not show on (my computer) window, but it is shown in (device manager), first as a (working probably device), then it is shown with a yellow mark and the device status is (This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed}The requested operation was unsuccessful), and when I try to make the usual troubleshooting, it changes to (an indefinable device), and Windows give me a message says that Windows cannot recognize the device because it is malfunctioned, for the hard drive itself, it starts with a flashing light, then it stops flashing and becomes still, after few seconds, I hear a tek sound comes from it, but the drive still working with less sound than usual, I have tried all of the solutions which was written for the similar problems, and still the same, so what should I do?

Solution
Unfortunately, clicking sounds in externals are not really a good sign.
Sometimes, external drives could make clicking sounds when there is not enough power supplied to them. Mechanical flaw is another cause for clicking.
I assume that you've tried using a different cable. As the issue persists, there is either something wrong with the enclosure or the HDD inside. In both cases, the data recovery process is complicated. You will not be able to access the data stored on the drive in case it is taken out of the enclosure as the device is hardware encrypted.

Your safest bet for recovering the data would be to contact a data recovery company.

You can check WD's Data Recovery Partners out...
Hi there Afshounov,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. 🙁
What is the sound that the drive makes?(clicking or the normal USB plug/unplug sound) Do you have important data stored on the drive? You need to check if the drive is recognized by Disk Management as well.

This error could indicate both driver related issue as well as a problem with the device itself.

Have you tried the drive on another computer? In case you haven't, you can try that. That way, you will rule out a possible driver related issue. You can go to your MOBO's website and update the USB drivers as well.
In case the issue persists and the drive does not work even on a different system, you can try using a different USB cable. If the issue persists, then I guess there is something wrong with the enclosure or the HDD itself.
Is the drive under warranty? In case it is, you can just contact the place you got it from or WD's Support and eventually RMA the drive: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=9W1POq

Let me know how this goes,

hello D_Know_WD
actually I have already did all the steps you told me, but still the same, and for the sound, it is not a plug and unplug sound, it is a mixture between clicking and toning appears after a few seconds from stop the light to flash, and part of the data is important, I think I will take it to the store I bought it from to see what is wrong, despite that I passed the warranty period I think, I just wanted to know the problem so it could be a simple one. thank you for caring.
