i have a problem with my webcam regarding darkness?

hey all im a bit of a webcam newb.. but basically, i have a "CIF USB CAMERA
2110" webcam, and no matter how much light is in the room (my room faces the
sun during the day,it gets pretty bright), it still can be really dark, and
it isnt until i add extra light sources such a my room light and a lamp that
i get decent images. ive tried fiddeling with the drivers brightness
settings etc etc but i just cant seem to get it that right kinda light?


ive tried everything and i cant think of anything else, does anyone know why
it takes so much light to get a decent image?

if you were to take a photo in the room of a child, you'd probably use a
flash right ?

most of the inexpensive webcams need lots of light ... when you replace that
webcam look for one that requires lower foot candles or lux or lumens and
educate yourself what this mean. Even the 1 lux logitech 4000 camera needs
added light for a decent home indoor pic.

ive had loads of webcams and only one was shite where the light was
good.....

consider throwing the thing away and spending not too much money on another
cheap webcam...

if yr in england go to argos they were doing a duo of webcams for less than
30 quid and are a bargain.....

and they dont need much light at all....

2 for the price of one is a good deal
