I have a problem...

I may have accidentally broken an old computer (which my parents still use).
I'd just built a pc this summer so I decided to check out the old one.
I fiddled around in it and when I reassembled it and plugged everything back in right it wouldn't turn on.
The PSU is fine as I tested it in my new build so that works.
I believe it to be the motherboard which is broken.

I put the old HDD into my new build but it refused to load windows XP.
So I took out my current HDD thinking it was because there were 2 OS' trying to run but it still didn't work.

My parents still want to access the Outlook Express function on Windows XP so I'm stuck.
The old computer no longer works.

I can't remember the exact model but it was an old HP Pavilion computer running on an Intel Pentium 4 with like a 230W PSU and some strange thick white cables running from the motherboard to the DVD Drives something similar to an old SATA connector.

Is there anyway to temporarily use my pc to access their email and stuff?

Any suggestions would be helpful...
