Hello, I have learned that hdmi can not run 144hz monitors. I do have a 144hz monitor, and people say displayport will definitely work, what is the best, latest version for under 20 dollars? Thanks!
Edit: Best latest version of displayport.

You didn't really put much info about what you're connecting other than 144hz. Most monitors these days are still using DP1.2, there are a few exceptions. If coming from a desktop than you're likely using a standard DP port, if a laptop its probably a mini DP. If you're some how planning 4k/144hz(not really sure how) than you'll need 1.4 otherwise 144hz 1440p or 1080p uses 1.2.

Pretty much any DP1.2 cable will work, there's hundreds. of them on Amazon. Peoplle answered in the questions section for the link below specifically saying they used this for 144hz...

Its normally recommended to be less than 6 feet in length but that's not absolute. If you want the 'latest' DP1.4 compatible cables are the latest but as I said most monitors are not using it. The advantage of a DP1.4 is that they're rated for higher bandwidth and might ensure better chances for high framerates but honestly 1.2 should work. I'm using the 1.2 cables that came with my monitors and they both work flawlessly.
