I got an Acer Aspire M1100 around 4-5 years ago and I still have it in the corner gathering dust, i figured that there is no point in selling it and because of the slow sped (no matter how many methods of speeding it up) it still wouldn't speed up significantly so I figured I should upgrade it for around £100 then it can be a computer for photos documents videos applications that I don't use all of the time. I don't actually know the full spces of this PC as I in particular have never opened it up. My dad has to insert extra RAM as it had stupidly ridiculous amount of RAM (know has 746 MB). I am upgrading the CPU and obviously the motherboard and adding extra RAM. In case you were wondering I at the moment have an AMD Athlon x2 cpu and I am unsure of all of the other specs except the gpu (which i am not upgrading) which is an ATI radeon
So far I have decided to upgrade the;
CPU to Intel Pentium g2130
Motherboard to Asus P8H61-MX
Extra RAM (additional 4gb)
I will not be over clocking gaming or photo designing/ using Photoshop. Please can you list me the specs that my pc currently has (if possible) and if these upgrades are wise and still keep the system compatible. I am not interested in upgrading GPU or anything else (unless needed to make my system work) and I am looking to spend the amount of around £120 (at the moment my upgrades are under that budget). Also in case you needed to know I am currently running Vista and I really do not want to upgrade (due to big costs). Thanks in advance
