I have a Swan DVR that has died but I need the video offf it. How can I recover the data? Ive tried using linux and converting

I have a Swan DVR that has died and I need the data on the drive. All the files on the drive have no extension eg: .mpg .avi ...
I can only access the contents of the drive using a linux box and tried to convert the files with WinFF but that didnt work... Any help would be awesome!

You're likely never going to get the content. DVR's typically encrypt the files so that nobody gets easy copies of protected content.

That is converting saved files... theses files I have on the internal drive of the DVR. For some reason there is NO FILE EXTENSION on them??? Im stumped
