I recently got a vga splitter http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Monitor-Splitter-Foot/dp/B005H3I38G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423879080&sr=8-1&keywords=vga+splitter to setup 2 monitors. But when I plugged them all in the second monitor will only mirror the main monitor and the second monitor won't even show up in the screen resolution window. I'm not sure is its my graphics card it is a geforce gtx 750 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121854. I am also running windows 7. I have also tried adapters for the other ports but none actually displayed picture. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

This kind of splitter will just duplicate the signal that it receives and then send the same picture to two displays, and won't help you extend your desktop spreading it out over multiple screens. It won't let you send two different pictures from one VGA port on your computer. This splitter cable will only help you in duplicating one signal that was sent out.

This will not let your computer use two screens. To do this, you're going to want to run one on HDMI, DVI, etc.
This splitter will only "copy" one monitor to the second.

That splitter will only display the exact same thing on two screens. The signal is coming out of a single video port on the GPU.

To display two different things (Extended display), you need to connect each monitor to a different port on the GPU or motherboard.
