i have a virus in my external hard drive and i just can not fix it! whenever i plug it in and open it, it says "internet explorer has stopped working please restart now or check for online solution" and then the window just closes, this has been happening every time i open it. i did scan it and there are no visible threads so i have no idea what to do i really need my hard drive to work so please help!

sure it says "internet explorer" or "windows explorer"? and how do you know its a virus if it comes clean back clean after a scan? whats the brand of the drive? I know western digital has software that can see the drives health and so forth.

Sounds more like a driver issue than a virus to me..

check peripheral if there is any ? mark on the external drive
