Good to hear, it may take some time, but it should all get removed eventually. :)

If you wanted to try something more powerful than water, but not dangerous, vinegar should be fine as it's only 5% acidic. I've used it on my TV without anything happening.
Just so you know, being panicked and typing in capslock doesn't bring people here faster :)

Do you happen to have any 90% rubbing alcohol around? Technical name is isopropyl alcohol. It's not that expensive if you had to buy some.

It is similar to nail polish remover, but I can't really recommend nail polish remover as they add extra stuff to it and I'm not certain how that would affect your screen.

What have you tried so far to remove it?

I have never removed that from my monitor, I have used Alcohol such as vodka, I don't know if white spirit would interact negativity with your monitor. I would suggest nothing abrasive and no heat. Actually try NonAscetone nail varnish remover, if you have a sister or mother that uses nail varnish. Make sure its (NON ACETONE) or it will eat through your screen like the aliens blood in the Nostromo.

i have got another cloth and put the tiniest amount of water on the end and slowly dabbed at the blotches and then used another clean cloth to wipes away the water, it has seemed to get rid of the blotches
