I have AMD 4600m should i upgrade to a A10-5750M?

I found an A10-5750M for cheap and i want to know if the upgrade is worth 70$? I will be using for gaming. Please don't tell me i need a desktop I know.

4600m is a trinity chip, 5750 is a richland chip. I dont think you can upgrade it...

its not a guarantee that it will work. i know for some hp models, they have a motherboard bios update that can be flashed to accept richland. i would research your specific laptop model and see what others have done, its likley been tried before.

why do you need the 5750m? do you need more power?

as long as you have a working 4600m you would be better off just getting the fastest ram you can get(maybe cas9 1600/1866 1.35v) and installing an ssd.

Sorry for taking so long to reply... i didn't revive any updates. I already have a SSD. So RAM would be better. I thought trinity could only go up to 1600mhz RAM but i could be mistaken. And I thought about upgrading because I want more performance and FPS in the games I play. The 4600m and the 5750m use the same socket so I thought I could upgrade.

the difference in gaming isn't going to be much by changing out the processor. plus there is the risk that your laptop wont recognize it. its really a crap shoot. some have been able to use 1866 ram, some have not. your pretty safe with 1600 though if you dont already have it. you might not be able return the 5750m either if it dont works, so its up to you if you want to risk it and that money is worth the extra few frames per second you will gain.

My Laptop model is a Toshiba Satellite S855D-S5120 and I most likely won't be able to return the 5750m.
