i have AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor what would be a good upgrade that isnt to expensive

AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor, Asus Gtx 660 Graphic card and a MSI 970A-G46 AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS I wanna get a new graphics card 970 or 1060 what would i have to do to make that happen not spend a whole lot of money
 
Solution
You can drop a 1060 into your current motherboard, and you'll see improvements in games. A CPU upgrade would also show improvements, but it's not strictly necessary when replacing your GPU.

I don't know your budget, but if you plan on upgrading, a nice skylake wouldn't be bad at all, plus, they aren't that expensive, a i5-6500 might work for you, and of course a 1060 will improve you system alot. I always try to avoid older hardware when upgrading, so if you have the possibility of buying the 1060 at almost the same price of a 970, go for the 1060
