i have an amd radeon r7 260x sapphire and it says i have shader model 5 but i installed a game and it says i need shader model

I recently installed a game called Heroes and Generals and I have just built my PC like a day ago, I haven't done much updating. Would I have to update my gpus drivers or what? I'm new to PC so any help would be great

Get the latest drivers directly from AMD's site. This seems more of a driver issue.

You do not have GPU drivers.
Go to AMD website and download and install all required drivers http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
