I currently have an apple airport mini router I think it is the extreme , anyway on the back I have to Ethernet ports and an HDMI port . I just purchase a tv box that needs to be hardwired to the Ethernet for best performance my question is can I connect my pc via the HDMI port on my router there by freeing up my second Ethernet port to connect it to the tv box or do I have to obtain a hub of some sort , please advise ?

I think you are mistaking the USB port for an HDMI port, and that port is intended for a printer.

If you need extra Ethernet ports, you'll need to get a network switch.
