Basically I recently upgraded to an FX-9590 from and old Athlon II, so my friend decided to do the same. However the FX-9590 would not work on his 970a-G43 motherboard, while mine does... So I looked it up and discover that the motherboard doesn't support the FX-9590 because it's over 200w. So, you can see why I'm confused. I'm running it, but he can't. And also I would like to know if I should worry about any adverse effects when it comes to running the FX-9590 since it doesn't support it...

Solution
It'll eventually wear the vrms out and cease to work. I wouldn't build a build with that processor if it was given to me. Loses to an i3 in many games, and nearly always messes up the board eventually. No chance your board lasts very long. I bet if you were to run prime95 it'd throttle right now. 2-3 months from now it'll probably do so doing light tasks
