I have an HDD from a toshiba in an acer can i get the Toshi to say its an Acer n

I replaced the burnt out HDD drive of an Acer, with a more advanced Toshi HDD currently the HDD boots fine with its Windows 7 AS IF the laptop were the Toshi Im wondering if I can get it to Marry the new HDD
