I have an i7-2700. CanI upgrade to a more recent faster CPU in the same socket?

As I said Above, I have a i7-2700, 3.5 gh CPU. Is ther an upgrade for it using the same socket?

You could upgrade to i7 3770k, but it depends on your motherboard, if supports Ivy Bridge processors. Also, the performance difference would be for only 7%. Better to spend your money on buying better cooler, more ram or better graphics.
