You probably want to do both tbh so that the 2200g doesn’t hold the card back.

What are your current full specs including psu make and model as well as age?

You may check to see there are bios updates available for your motherboard to support ryzen 5000 series. If so even picking up something like a ryzen 5600 would be a huge increase for you. I have a 6700xt and it’s a great card but I think the 2200g might limit it. If you are on a tight budget and gaming at 1080p, another option might be the rx 6600 since those can be found at least in the USA for about 200 dollars. Then that would leave money for a better cpu to balance things. Plus you can probably resell your older parts.

2200G definitely holds back a 6700 XT because of the low IPC and it only has 8 PCI-e3.0 lanes for the GPU. Upgrade the CPU first.

What's the brand and model of the PSU? You don't want to hook up a 6700XT to a piece of junk.

650wt corsair bronze plus PSU, and is 5600x better than the 5700x?
