i have an older LG E2370 led ips 14ms question on upgrading gaming

i am wanting to upgrade my monitor and have been thinking of 4k HD but im not so sure i want to spend more then 300 on a monitor and wondered if i upgraded and stayed with 1080p if there are any monitors out there that i would notice a diffence on or if 1080p monitors from 2011 are just as good as the more recent 1080p monitors

1080p is better for that graphics card. You should go 1080p because you can max out games. 4K would mean lowering the quality, and even though the resolution would be higher $300 more is not worth it with the card you have.
