I have an Optiplex 755 SFF, what can I do to upgrade in order to play Skyrim at a decent FPS?

As Stated, I need to know what I can do to upgrade it...

240W PSU
2GB Samsung RAM
Intel Dual Core
Win7

Any other information, please ask

the gpu i would go for a radeon hd 7750 low profile version, for that one you need about 350W-400W psu, but beware that you need a small psu to replace your current one

ram would be hard to find as you need ddr2 i think, but ok, maybe it would work without it too...

my suggestion would be to get the graphics card, if the 240W psu is a good quality one it might just work with just that, the gpu needs at max 75W of power.

The PSU is alright, I have spare ddr2 cards but when I tried to put them in it beeped alot so....
Would a radeon hd 6670 work?

Therefore, I would just need to buy that, nothing else? Other than more ram obvioulsy

like on the other thread, 240W might be enough, but it's a risk. it can be unstable or at worse it can even damage your components though that's rare.

if there's any problems with the new card you need a psu upgrade too. you should get a 400W+ psu and like you say, ram could help too.

I second this, no power supply upgrade is necessary! Just make sure that you getting GDDR5 not DDR3, this one is excellent one Sapphire 100357LP Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-100357LP-128-bit-Express-Profile/dp/B0095MRLJ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387855947&sr=8-1&keywords=SAPPHIRE+100357LP

If you can find it cheaper, go for it. It is out of stock on newegg.

You can put a Core2Duo into a 755; the one I'm using right now has an E8400 at 3 GHz. It'll support 1066 and 1333 MHz FSB speeds.

The 755 SFF has a specification of 8 GB max memory, but it will take 16 GB (I have one with 13 GB = 3x 4 GB + 1x 1GB). The memory is DDR2, and 1 GB or even 2 GB modules can be had for a "reasonable" price.

The best graphics card I've got in one is a Radeon 6450, but I might check out the 7750.

Note that if you update a load of components at the same time, Windows might need re-registering.

These are really intended as a good business workhorse rather than a gaming machine, so they are always going to be a bit limited.
