Question i have an RX 580 and older R9 380. Can i use these both in the same PC and if i can what will be the positives and benefits?

Can iIuse an RX 580 and R9 380 together in the same PC? I use win 7 with an i5 6500 and RX 580. I am not very knowledgeable about crossfire. I found an R9 380 the other day and thought it wouldn't hurt if I could use it to boost performance slightly. If it does work, could anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages and how I would set it up?

If youre looking for more gaming performance odds are you will not get it, crossfire/sli require the same GPU, and DX12s multi gpu tech hasn't gotten much support it seems, and windows 7 doesn't support DX12.

Technically you could use the 380 as a PhysX card, but I don't believe many games are using that tech either these days. Just sell the GPU and save it for a gpu upgrade.

You can do this, since I did something similar.
You can Mine with one and play games with the other

Cannot game with both
