I have around 4500 to build gaming rig (CAN)

Hey, Does anyone have any suggestions for a gaming computer for around $4500 (CAN)? I am looking for an i7 and great nivida graphics card.

At least get an outline of the products you want..

LOL at the $4500 computer. That's crazy. A $2500 (Canadian dollars) PC will give you 90% of the speed of a $4500 PC. OK, maybe if the $4500 needs to include monitor and speakers and printer and mouse and so on, then it may make sense.

The exchange rate is around 83 cents US/Canadian dollar, officially, but computer hardware costs a lot more in Canada than you'd get by converting Newegg USA prices with that exchange rate.

I like jack64's build. Maybe with a Corsair 1000HX PSU, but the Toughpower is good too.

Of course, with that budget I'd use three GTX 285 cards or two GTX 295 cards. In general three GTX 285 cards will beat two GTX 295, even if it's only 3 GPUs against 4, because they have higher clocks and the 4th GPU of the GTX 295 QuadSLI is not used very efficiently.

You could also add a Velociraptor or a SSD.

If you need speakers I'd recommend Logitech Z-5500.

Maybe an Auzentech sound card too.

Damn $4500 Canadian

I would change the mobo to this
P6T Deluxe V2

And get the Noctua se1366 instead of the True

Get 6GB of the best timmings you can find

And even get the Vertex SSD's

Get 3 GTX 285's and a 1000HX that aevm recomended.

Get a nice big screen and a nice gaming case like the Thermaltake Spedo or the Antec 1200 or the nice Coolermaster Cosmos S Black

Even in Canada, I think your budget is higher than it needs to be.

Splurge on a 30" monitor.

A GTX295 will drive it well.

i7-920 is plenty.

Other parts are preferences for which, you will get many suggestions.

Save the rest and invest it as a reserve for a future update.

What is interesting abou this question is you practically have no budget. $4500 to build a gaming rig (even in Canadian dollars) isn't a budget to me but more like winning the lotto! Right away, X58 Chipset ASUS Rampage II Extreme "in case" you upgrade later and go from GTX 295 SLI to 3-way SLI. The power to go with that Extreme Asus can only be matched with an iCore Extreme 956 and at least dual 30" monitors. Don't forget the LN2 cooling so you can smash the 3DVantage World Record!

Spend 2250 on a great computer... Spend the rest on buying a new gfx card once a year.
Unless, you're rich and you'll have 4500 to spend again next year.

I have the Logitech G-15 leyboard and the Logitech MX518 mouse, they are not top or the line but very good gamers. The Samsung 2493HM monitor I have is 5ms refresh, but it has never hindered me in any games. and the colors are AWESOME, but I hear there are faster and better monitors out there, listen to these gents on here and they will steer you right!
