I recently have been getting lag on games that I really should not be, old games included, I have a gtx 1080, 32gb of ram, an i7 7700k and water cooling.

Whats your OS?

Your 32GB of DDR4 a Kit or mixed? Have you tried halving it to 16GB and test different sticks?

Your mobo's drivers & Bios is up-2-date?

Whats your PSU?

Any overclocks? What are your temps?

When was the last time you reinstalled Windows?

HDD or SSD?

A little more info please.

I have Windows 10 64 Bit
have no idea how to check if bios is up to date.
My temps seem pretty average but if you tell me how to find them exactly I can. I have 1 tb of HDD and SSD but the SSD is a little full so it might be booting slower.
I have two 16 sticks for ddr4 memory.
My PSU is a 880 Watt corsair PSU.
Im not sure if I am overclocking.

I'm having the same issues as Peenu. My build is as follows;
Windows 10 64bit (New PC with new parts and Fresh Install all drivers are up to date according to my driver software tool SlimDriver)
CPU: Ryzen 2700x (Stock Wraith Prism Cooler)
GPU: Zotac GTX 1080ti 11GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4-3000 (Crucial Brand)
2 TB SSHD Firecuda (All games run on this)
500GB SSD (Operating System and Drivers Only)
750 Watt Gold Power Supply (Corsair)
Motherboard is ASRock B450 Pro4
BIOS was up to date when I got the PC last month.

After a game crashes my PC also runs extremely slow until I either hard reset or manage to pull up the Windows menu and click restart and then it runs fine until a game crashes again. This happens quite often when I'm playing games like The Witcher 3, Conan Exiles, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo 3 etc.
