i have been installed windows xp operating system on my system, but the problem is operating system is not booting without dvd rw(when i disconnect dvd). when i reconnect dvd drive os booting normally. plz help me on this.

what the error said when you try to boot with the dvd disconnected?

If you have an older system, you might be using the 'jumper' in the wrong fashion. The jumper on a dvd drive is located between the power connection and the data connection if my memory serves me right. It's the two pin plastic thing.

Make sure the jumper is in 'slave' or 'auto select'.
