I have Biostar G31-M7 TE,motherboard,how much Graphic card memory it support...I

for the onbboard video you can set upto 256MB as shared video memory. but dont expect to play games like bf3 crysis or any other high end games. it wall basically be able to hand something like tetris or a browser based games. as it has the intel 3000 igp which by any standard is weak...
you really will need a dedicated gfx card if you want to play any game post 2003
 
I have installed a 2GB Geforce graphic card in it and it is working fine, also I have played games like COD(Black ops,modern warfare 1,2,3) Fifa 9 and much...!
I also want to know that which processor I can use other than the Dual core....!!

are the best cpu's your board can handle. make sure you update to the latest available bios to get all the cpu's support.
 
nope there a completely different socket. they require 1156 for the older i3 i5 i7 cpus and the newer require 1155 sockets. your motherboard is about 5 years old which proceeds the intel i series by about 2 years. not to worry though the intel core 2 quad is still a usable cpu for gaming especially if you can get it to 3ghz or more.

 


I have a G31M7TE motherboard with the crappy on board gpu, I'm trying to get a 1GB video card to work, or the Geforce 9500GT it came with to work and no matter what I do I cannot get BIOS to read that the PCIE card is in the slot. When I put the card in and start, I get a blank screen. I have a 450 watt power supply so that's not the problem, have tried so many different things. This is a common problem I've seen online with the mobo's but nobody can tell me what the stupid things in the BIOS have to be set at exactly to get one to work. Can you please help me.

 

Is there any way you could please tell me how you have your BIOS set up?? I have a system I just got done trying to fix a "I let my brother work on it and now it doesn't work" job. I got everything in place but now the PCI Express slot will not show me anything on the screen no matter how I set the bios. The mobo came with a 512mb Nvidia 9500GT card in it and that doesn't work, neither does the 1GB 315 NVidia card I got for it. The BIOS are such a nightmare on this mobo....

 


There is only the one PCI E slot on the motherboard. I've tried it with only the hard drive video card CPU and fans connected and nothing on the screen from the card. Fans spinning...This board came with a 512mb Nvidia 9500GT vid card and worked for a year and a half.. I replaced the PSU with one that's 50 watts stronger and still nothing.. I looked at PSU requirements for a 512 and a 1GB and they say 300 to 350 so I have no Idea what is wrong.... There are so many options in the BIOS, but none seem to help. I hate it when certain companies add a ton of BIOS stuff but name everyday stuff we see on most boards, they give them some weird little menu name.
 


I checked and both vid cards say 300 / 350 PSU are required. I can get the mobo to boot, with the card in the PCI E slot with Windows 7 64 bit, cards fans spinning fine, not showing anything in device manager, when I go to install the Nvidia driver it doesn't recognize it and says there's no card in there. This things killing me, I got days into this tower. Think there just going to have to learn to play WOW with the 3100 GPU on the mobo cuz nobody has a clue whats the deal with the biostar bios....
 
But is there an extra power socket on the board to provide power specifically to the PCIe slot? I'm only asking in case it needs more power to fund the more powerful graphics car than worked in there before. There are PSUs with extra connectors for boards that need one as my Asus board does. An extra power connector joins together with the one that usually goes in near the CPU in then becomes an eight pin socket on the edge of the board.
 
I figured out my problem, well some of it. I fell very dumb for having to write this, but nothing aggravated me more than when researching a topic and finding an unfinished thread that I know had my answer at the end, except the OG writer didn't want to come back and state how they fixed the problem. I was using the wrong DVI adapter on my VGA cable. Yeah I know, sorry. LOL!!! But that didn't solve everything to do with the graphics cards. After I got the correct adapter then they both worked. But the Pegatron NViDIA GT 315 1GB DDR3 is impossible to install a driver for once you have it in the PCEI socket. And no there wasn't a PCEI power socket on the video card. I know what your talking about and those are only on newer video cards that are large with cooling fans and have PCI express 2.0 - 3.0 output.

So my new problem is that the motherboard I have the card with now, which is a MS 7207 and the 1GB DDR3 NVIDIA 315 GT video card, the driver for the card does not work off Nvidia's site. It's not in my device manager, Speccy doesn't read the card as what it is, but yet the screen works fine when I have the card hooked up to DVI output through an adapter using my vga core. But when I put my 9500 NVIDIA GT card in the same slot, work perfect, and Windows 7 automatically finds and installs the driver. I don't understand why that 315 GT 1GB DDR3 video card won't allow a driver to be installed..
 
It's a mystery to me - W7 should be able to find drivers by itself. From the Properties page of the 315 card, what are the HardwareIDs details of the VEN and DEV? www.pcidatabase.com might be able to help you. It may lead you to a better version down an Nvidia central.
