Can you give us details? What part of PC Wizard is showing that speed? The Memory section or the Chipset section? (the Chipset section is the one that shows the current settings, while the Memory section just lists the SPD info).

In any case, you should be able to change the memory bus speed and memory latency timings in the BIOS.

thanks for your reply.. its i only see the memory specs wen i click on 'overclock information' even though i dont O/C... but other than that everything other button would just show DDR2 ram or something..
yeah i think i checked the BIOS to see if i would be able to adjust things but im not to fluent with O/Cing or changing Ram timings and stuff .. so if you could help me somehow to get my ram to its correct setting maybe that'd help...but im gonna soon run memtest86 to see if anything wrongs with it.. its been running fine .. but yeah that ram i got yesetreday after i RMA'd it.

thanks..

If you're still not sure, try manually setting your BIOS so the ram will run at DDR800 only, some board with not so good BIOS sometimes are kind of 'stupid', you have to manually set it

Im going to say that it is saying that is runing at 667 not that it is 667. And i bet your CPU is the culprit, i thought i read a while back that not all AM2 CPU's were DDRII800 compatible(dont run at that speed with the memory) The lower models only run the memory at 667. Only the high ends like the FX run at 800. Can anyone confirm this.

hmm well im not sure about that thought... could be true could be false.. when i tested my computer with another memory module.. it read at 400mhz which is ddr2 800.. and before i had the same ram im using now it sed 400mhz.. thats what i dont get...

Its probably reading correctly. You have a C2D?

If so FSB is 1066mhz.

At 667mhz in dual channel your memory is running at 1,334mhz.

I'd lay money on your FSB:RAM ratio (check bios) being 5:4 = 0.8.

0.8 x 1334 = 1067 or in other words a perfect match for your CPU's FSB.

800MHZ ram is overspecified for a C2D at stock speed.

try up the vdimm to 2.1v and manually set to CLS to 5.5.5.15 since this is the timing for most modules. If you want lower the timing and test it if its stable.

ERr.. what is wrong with me today... post it on the wrong topic. I should never trust my back button.
