I have followed setting up a VPN on my laptop win 10, i keep getting this message:

this error message is what I get when I try to connect my VPN:
the remote connection was not made because the attempted VPN tunnels failed. The VPN server might be unreachable. If this connection is attempting to use an L2tp/IPsec tunnel, the security parameters required for IPsec negotiation might not be configured properly.
what the hell am I doing wrong ?? I cannot seem to get it connected. HELP!!!!! please k

Can you provide us with any background info or anything else useful?

Where are you trying to connect to?
Do you know what protocol your VPN server is using (PPTP, IPSEC, OPENVPN, etc).
Are you setting up your PC to connect to another server, or setting up your router to connect to it?
Are you inputting the right username and password?

Also your local machine and the VPN server can not have the same IP subnet.

this is the setupI went through on my laptop.
Settings then select Network/internet then select VPN then Add VPN connection, type in IP Address, VPN provider, then connection name ect.....
Then select Connect VPN then it comes up with this message:
Cant connect to strong signal byepass
The remote connection was not made because the

I have deleted VPN and set up a new one and yet still this message comes up ????

Is this a private VPN to your network (or work, or buddies, etc) or is this a VPN to a service that you want to use for say private web traffic

yes private. ive got one private vpn on my smart phone that works but need this on my pc..... cant understand why it will not work..... K
