i have fx 6300 + r9 280x what to update first ?

i7 2600k, but it was already sold, sad. i can get a i5 6500 or a 6400-new. but i must get a new mobo and ram. and i dont know anything about intel sockets or the DDR4. please suggest something!

You can overclock non-k processors but It is much harder. That Mobo is capable of OCing though. Also, you need DDR4. You can pick up 2 4GB sticks for pretty cheap. I'd recommend Kingston HyperX Fury.

That's the best your going to get for that budget. It'll also mean that you can upgrade your GPU at any time without worrying about bottlenecks. But yes, that is all you will need, and you'll pick up a decent amount of frames. A 280x is still a very competent card.

-my card is sapphire r9 280 dual x 3gb (sorry for the mistake)so the i5 + r9 280 or fs 6300 (oc) + rx 480. what would you suggest?

Still the i5. The RX 480 system will perform better in the short term, however the i5 will give you much better upgradeability, and will end up cheaper. Also, getting the i5 means you can wait for the GTX 1060.
