Server im connected to are from new York. But when i play a certain games its connected in Chicago. But heres the tricky part, when i got to ping test and check my ping in Chicago its a solid 40-42 ping.
Sounds like the game changed their ISP, or your ISP changed their upstream provider, or there's a network glitch and one of the major routing hubs is down or has off-loaded traffic to a different hub. The site you are pinging in Chicago may be a relatively straight route, while the packets for your game may be routing through San Francisco.
Try a traceroute to your game server's IP address, and find out which hop is adding the large latency.
Speed has nothing to do with ping times. If I load a 4 TB external drive with data and drive it to your house in 15 minutes, that's a transfer speed of 35 Gbps. But the latency (ping time) is 1800 seconds.
