Try a different cord or charger, replace the battery if it's removable, have someone check the charging port.

Yes checked everytthing rxcept the battery. Took it to John Lewis and the prognosis is to change DC port but that is looking through
the magnifying glasses.

I don’t know whether my words could help you. But, last time, when my android mobile phone cannot be charged, I did searched a lot and found such not charging issues could be caused by damaged battery, phone changer and USB cable, etc. So, you may also go check your tablet battery, charger and USB cable to take chances.

Dc port issue is very usual to lenovo devices,the solder usually loosens up and needs changing or resoldering
