Which Sempron? There are a lot and they are very different.

Oh... What is your budget? A CPU upgrade might be in order as well to a Athlon/Phenom X3 at least. But if your budget is too low for that a basic GT 720, 730 or R7 240 is your best bet.

Will it supports pci express v 1?

A PCI Express 2.0 GPU will work in a PCI Express original slot but it still has to be x16 to support most graphics cards.
