I have p6t deluxe v2 mobo, wich ssd should i choose? SATA speed compatibility?

HI there , i need help:

Ihave an early i7 with 12 gig memory kit

this mobo
P6T DELUXE V2 - ASUS P6T DELUXE V2 S.1366 INT X58/ICH10R ATX 3PCIE X16,6D.DDR3-1600MHZ FSP WIFI-AP GBLAN

and this hdd
:HD103UJ - SAMSUNG SPINPOINT F1 HD103UJ 1TB SATA 3G 7200 RPM 32MB CACHE

this cpu :
iàINTEL CORE I7-920 2.66GHZ 8MB CACHE LGA-1366 4.8GT QPI
this memory

The specs of the hdd are about 120 meg/s in both reading and writing transfer I think. I though of getting a smal SSD like 120 gig to run my OS. It is not clear what type of sata my mobo can run

1.Could you help me finding wich is the sata max speed i can have with my pc?
2. Also what other parameter do I have to look at to see where is my bottleneck(or what component will limit my pc speed.
3 finally is it worth it to buy a ssd im my case considering the limits of my system?
4 Is it necessary to check my bios version , if yes how to?
5 I dont remeber if ssd plugs in pci too whats faster pci or sata on the mobo

I was going through some of the older threads and found this. You've probably already figured this all out yourself, but if not, here are some answers:

Your mobo supports SATA II at 3 Gbits/sec. SATA III drives are backwards compatible with your board, but you won't get SATA III speeds (6Gbits/sec).

Short of buying a new mobo and CPU, adding an SSD will certainly speed things up. Other than that, all you can really do is optimize your software settings.

3 finally is it worth it to buy a ssd im my case considering the limits of my system?

If you're not planning on upgrading you CPU and mobo, then adding an SSD is probably the single best way of improving your system speeds. Your OS launch time and file retrieval/transfer times will all be radically reduced. You can still use your HDD, just shift it to storage rather than using it as a boot drive.

4 Is it necessary to check my bios version , if yes how to? No, but you should keep your BIOS up to date.

5 I dont remeber if ssd plugs in pci too whats faster pci or sata on the mobo -

You can get PCIe SATA which is faster, but there's not really any point unless you're setting up a server. For normal use, the speed difference between PCIe and SATA isn't worth the cost.

do all ssd hard drive offer connection through pcie and sata ?

Also concretely, since i show my hhd are you able to tell me my speed (i think the limiting factor is the HDD ) now
and what speed would I achive if I but a ssd (a good one) .If im not mistaken the 2 most revelent speed are write and read isn't it? im confused.

then it wil be clearer for me to see if its worth it
