"Ask again when you actually have the funds saved up," what funds? Cause I don't know how much I'm supposed to save without recommendations.
What sort of recommendation you will get depends largely on what sort of budget you have in mind. Recommendations will be drastically different between a $500 budget and a $2000 one. If you want to have any sort of relevant recommendation, you need to provide a range of how much you are willing to spend.
The range you specify will decide between i5-8400, i5-8600k, i7-8700k or possibly something comparable from the Ryzen 1000/2000 series, maybe even HEDT (i9/ThreadRipper), how much memory, how fast, entry-level or enthusiast motherboard, etc.
Also, if you are saving with no specific purchase time frame in mind, new CPUs, chipsets and motherboards launch all of the time. Asking for recommendations several months ahead of time may lead to outdated recommendations due to new CPU, chipset and motherboard launches - Intel will be launching Coffee Lake refresh and z390 in a few months, which may shuffle pricing on older parts.
