HWMonitor shows 2 CPU temperature readings. The one above (70C) and the one below which is core temperature (54C). I was running Prime95 at this screenshot moment to test my overclocked CPU.

My question is which of the 2 temperature should I watch out for? According to CPU-World, the "Maximum operating temperature" for my CPU is 70C. Which of the two temperatures is it referring to?

Also, I looked at other softwares to monitor the temperature too, Core Temp and Corsair Link, both of them only show me the core temperature (54C) and don't show the 70C reading. Which makes me think that the 70C temperature isn't important?

Why other softwares don't show the 70C reading at all?

Solution
There is socket temp and core temp. The 70 is the socket temp and you don't want that to do much about 75 and not for long periods. When you oc it draws more power and this heats up the vrms and the vrms send more heat to the cup via the socket. You need to cool down your socket and 0r vrms with a fan or teo
