performance wise sure, since 980ti is faster.

However support wise, since 980ti been out for so longer, nvidia may only officially support it for a year or two. Usually and/nvidia supports their cards for around 3 generations. And belong that you are on your own.

So I guess the question is are you planning to keep 980ti for long? If yes then it may not be a good choices. Short term performance boost, sure.

if the gtx 980 ti faster thats mean it better than rx 580 > rx 580 2017 and 980 ti 2015 and the 980 still better nw and future !!

Whether something is a good buy depends on the price. And you'll need a discount to make this worthwhile as you're giving up a card that ought to still be under warranty and adding a card that -- depending on the original purchase date and the brand's policy for allowing warranty service for a secondhand part -- may not have a warranty.

I should note that given the existence of *new* GTX 1070s in the low $300s, I wouldn't go over $220 or so for a used 980 Ti.
