I have some 'errors' and 'warnings' in event viewer. Shall I be worried?

So I only just found about event viewer yesterday, due to Macrium creating image errors (which is fine now). I did have one critical but it was fixed/removed due to me fixing a differential Macrium image backup.

Although I have noticed there are some errors and warnings, and even thousands of Audit Success (although I read thats the success of logging in). I read somewhere that you should not worry too much about it. Is this correct? I have never looked at it before and have had my PC for 4 years.

Thank you :)

If your PC is working fine, don't worry about errors in event viewer. A perfectly working PC may have errors in there

You’re sure to see some errors and warnings in the Event Viewer, even if your computer is working fine.

The Event Viewer is designed to help system administrators keep tabs on their computers and troubleshoot problems. If there isn’t a problem with your computer, the errors in here are unlikely to be important. For example, you’ll often see errors that indicate a program crashed at a specific time, which may have been weeks ago.

Great, thanks for the clarification.

Although a few weeks ago I did receive a "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device Error", and also HD Tune also shows "Interface CRC error count attention". Would these show on the Event viewer? It does not show the date of each error unless I manually doubly click each one to open its summary page!

1st error might be tied into 2nd. 2nd error is a SMART error, SMART = Self Monitoring and Reporting Technology, its built into your Hard drive itself. If you are getting warnings from hard drive, only sane approach is replace it before it stops working and takes all your data with it.

it can also be the hdd cable you are using as these are communication errors

UDMA CRC errors are caused by communication errors between the drive and the host (southbridge) and typically involve an issue with the drive, SATA cable or the motherboard. These errors aren't generally something to worry about in terms of an absolute count as errors may have occurred on day 1 and never re-occurred. You should worry when it occasionally increases..

I have had mixed responses from this forum and Seagate about my HD dying and that 'its completely fine, just backup anyway'.

1st error happend during defragging my PC. 2nd error, someone said is due to SATA cable. You could be right with saying its linked as the defragging maybe moved some files or the SATA cable could not carry the file through..or something like that.

-I will run the chkdsk to check for errors as well as Seatools Windows long test.
-I have created an Rescue CD and Backup Image of my internal HD. Its been working absolutely fine as well.

EDIT: Seatools for Windows Short Drive self test and also S.M.A.R.TCheck give my internal HD a pass which is good news also!
