total newbie to overclocking here.
i have this
http://www.intel.com/design/PentiumII/QIT/DATABASE/SL358.htm
on this
http://www.msi.com.tw/products/mainboard/mainboard.php?model=MS-6119
with this
Geforce 2 mx 32 mb engine clock 190 mhz and memory clock 180 mhz
Soundblaster Live! 5.1
448mb pc100 ram

my current system temp is(ive been surfing for a few hours):
CPU 29* celcius
MOBO 29* celsius

(how)can i overclock?

First of all you need to know the kind of PC 100 that you have. Download <A HREF="http://www.majorgeeks.com/article.php?sid=275" target="_new">HCPUID</A> (8ns=125 MHz or 10 ns=100 MHz)
If you have PC 100 10 ns (not real P 100) you will not be able to go higher than FSB 100 MHz or may be just 103 MHz (in this case would be good if you buy PC 133)

If you have PC 100 8 ns (real PC 100) you’ll be able to go up to FSB 125 MHz so the CPU will run at 562 MHz.
To get that 25% OC in a PII you also need good cooling so be sure to don’t go higher than 45-48ºC with the CPU temp.

Anyway rise the FSB slowly, try 112 MHz, test for stability, then if everything is fine try at 124 MHz.
Also there is a good Intel OC guide at <A HREF="http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=guide&dId=19" target="_new">http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=guide&dId=19</A>

This is my RAM:
256MB 16x(16Mx8) SDRAM PC133U-333-542(CL3 upto 133MHz)(CL2 upto 83MHZ)

Hyundai Electronics 7V651601ATFG-10P 2C02256E 128MB 16x(8Mx8) SDRAM PC100-222-622(CL3 upto 100MHz)(CL2 upto 100MHz)

Hyundai Electronics 7V65801ATFG-105 62014446 64MB 8x(8Mx8) SDRAM PC100-322-622(CL3 upto 100MHz)(CL2 upto 83MHz)

i have no idea what all the number mean, is it wrong or right type of RAM?

also i cant finf my Winbond(W83781D ISA) version in Soft FSB, what am i doing wrong?

Looks like PC 100 8ns (able to run at 125 MHz in some cases) but could be 10 ns

In the last 2 cases you need to be sure if memory is 8 or 10 ns. You have to use HCPUID or CTSPD for this.

Why you don’t overclock just using the BIOS?

Why you don’t overclock just using the BIOS?

in the bios i cant change FSB and if i change the multiplier nothing happens

Any Intel CPU higher than 333 MHz have the multiplier <b>locked</b>. You can change it in BIOS but nothing happens.

On the other hand, what FSB possibilities does the motherboard have? I think it's 100, 112, 124 and 133. Or maybe you are able to change it using jumpers. Normally that appears in the motherboard manual.

Trying to answer the original question.... because I’m almost running out of ideas….

The manual of your motherboard says:”66/100MHz clocks are supported. 68/75/83/103/112/133MHz is reserved”
Think your motherboard is able to go up to 133 MHz, so first try updating the BIOS and if it doesn’t work (doesn’t give you any new setting to change the FSB) you just have to identify the PLL number (clock generator) of the motherboard and use the program CPUfsb or SOFTfsb to change the FSB from windows. The last will work 95% sure. (don’t forget what I told you about the RAM)

You should find softfsb and cpufsb at <A HREF="http://www.majorgeeks.com" target="_new">http://www.majorgeeks.com</A>

About the graphics card: download <font color=green>Powerstrip</font color=green> and you will be able to overclock your Geforce about 15% easily.

Yep, Powerstrip is a good utility that i have been using for some time now.

About SOFTfsb, CPUcool and CPUfsb, when i try to change FSB my computer locks up and and when i restart nothing has changed.

As for BIOS updating(flasing, right?) i have no idea how to or witch BIOS version i should update to.
In SiSoftware Sandra it says i have this BIOS:
Manufacturer: American Megatrends, inc
Version: V1.65
Date: 12/18/98
Plug and Play version: 1
SMBIOS/DMI version: 2.10
(EE)PROM size: 256kb (2Mbit)
and i guess that it is what i have, where can i find a newer version and how do i update?

How high did you push the FSB? What PLL does your motherboard have? You must select the correct one to get good results.

Looks like you have BIOS version 2.1 and there is a newer version 2.9
Go to <A HREF="http://www.msi.com.tw/support/bios/bios.php?model=MS-6119" target="_new">http://www.msi.com.tw/support/bios/bios.php?model=MS-6119</A> and download the newest (the first one in the page, version 2.9 date 2000-12-01) BIOS for your motherboard.
The read me file has the instructions to make the flash, but they are not accurate so here they are corrected:

How To Upgrade BIOS (from the MSI read me file coming with the BIOS, corrections are in <b>bold</b>)

1. Make a bootable system floppy disk by typing [FORMAT A:/S] from the DOS prompt.<b>this kind (/S) of format is not currently supported for the newest Windows versions. So if you receive a message saying that, just make a windows startup disk (control panel/add remove programs/startup disk) and extract the BIOS file to a SECOND DISK because in the startup disk possibly you won’t have enough space to put the BIOS.</b>
2. Download the BIOS file from MSI web page.
3. Extract the BIOS file into the bootable floppy.
4. Boot up system with the bootable floppy disk.<b>Once you are in DOS prompt A: just put the SECOND DISK with the BIOS file and type: DIR. That will show you the BIOS files you have in the disk.</b>
5. Run Award (Ex. Awdfl770) <b>( AWFL783M)</b> or AMI (Ex. amifl822.exe) Flash utility & follow the on-screen instructions.
6. After flashing the BIOS, reboot system, press [DEL] to go into BIOS setup.
7. Select [Load Setup Default] for or [Load Optimized Defaults] and press Key [Enter] and
press Key [Y].
8. Press Key [F10] than answer [Y] to reboot system again and finish upgrade procedure.

<font color=red>IF YOU DON’T FEEL CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO MAKE THIS PROCEDURE I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TO ASK SOMEBODY FOR HELP</font color=red>
