I have to remove my GPU, turn my computer on, shutdown, put the GPU back in, and then it will work.

So I have had the zotac 1080 amp extreme for less than a month and it has 2 8pin power connector slots. First off it will only boot if 14 out of 16 pins are plugged in other wise I get a blank screen and my Z87 will light up "VGA-LED." In a review one person said this was an option which is why I tried it but I could not find that review again unfortunately and the instructions have zero information about anything helpful. I thought it may be the slot too but when I put my old 980 into it there was no problem.

Everything was fine for a while but this week it will not boot unless I fully remove the gpu, boot into windows, shutdown, and then reinstall the gpu physically (Not the drivers or anything, just to physically remove and then put it back.) If I do not do this my Z87 will show the "VGA-LED" indicator and I will get a blank screen.

Thoughts?

Solution
Test the card in a known good system, if that passes, contact Corsair to try some new PCIe cables, or you could not be plugging in the power cords properly.
