I have tried Repeater set-up without success

Thank you for your reply. I have been trying to set up a Repeater bridge for months and have used nearly every instruction that I can find and nothing has worked except for one time I had it working for about 3 hrs but when I disconnected it would not connect by wireless or ethernet it just says connecting and goes no further unless I reset the router and start again. I reprogrammed the router with the exact same settings ( wrote them down as I went) but have never manage to get on line. I have to keep resetting the router before I can start again. I am not a techie and too old to understand a lot of modern tech but would realy appreciate it if you could help me. Thanks

DD-WRT on Linksy 54G and Cysco M10 with DD-WRT. Both same results
