i have windows 7 need windows 8

okay so i bought a copy of a disk for windows 7 pro 64 not knowing it was an update disk and after i installed it, it keeps telling me windows is not valid so i bought a windows 8 HP 64bit install disk how do i get the windows 8 on my pc?

Did you just buy the disc, or did you buy the key too?

You'll need a windows 8 key.
