Question I heard a zap

Long story short I spent the better part of 2 days building my first pc with lots of trial and error and finally got it up and running for less than a day 😑 some led strip came in and I went to put it in.

I found the one connection at the bottom for LED input but figured the 3 hole female connector next to it needed to be plugged in too so I found a 4 pin connector right next to the led connector and figured that would work. When I turned on the power about a second or 2 later I heard a zap all the lights in the rig turned off and the start button started flashing. I'm thinking I fried the motherboard but idk. Any help would be cool,thank you.

For reference I have an x570 asus crosshair XIII hero, 3700x gigabyte 5700xt and a 650 watt evga B5 80 plus bronze psu

Sounds like you plugged in something with ARGB into RGB port and possibly blew something out. Does it work without those things plugged in ? Can't tell you much more because you didn't say what exactly you plugged into what.
