I inserted the RAM wrong way and now I don't get a display

So here's the situation I was cleaning my ram and then I accidentally put it wrong way and booted the pc. After that I can't get any display fans are properly running I checked my ram and power supply etc with a working motherboard they works completely fine. I think my motherboard had a short circuit. Any way to fix that without replacing motherboard they cost hell alot.

if its a shortcircuit then there is not way to fix it may be the Ram slots are fried or broken pins or something you can cant fix the hardware issues

It's impossible to insert RAM the wrong way without physically breaking it. There's a notch part way down (but not quite in the middle) which prevents it from being put in backwards.

You cant insert the ram in opossite directions
check another friend of Ram in your System

Then that shopkeeper doesn't know what he's talking about. Take a look at your RAM and mobo slot (or just look at pictures online), you'll see what I'm talking about with the notch.

One thing to check is that the RAM is seated properly. This happened to me when replacing RAM. It felt like it snapped in, but then wouldn't boot. I pushed a little more and it snapped fully in. Can take a fair bit of force.

You can also try putting in only one stick at a time (if you have more than one), and trying that stick in different slots.

Another possibility is that you damaged the RAM (possibly ESD) when cleaning it.

Actually shopkeeper tried it doesn't work. But my ram and other stuffs works in another motherboard..

@Tj probably yeah shopkeeper doesn't know but problem started right after I cleaned my RAM what could I possibly done wrong? Is it about cpu CMOS or any other part? I don't get any display and power on mouse, keyboard etc.

Like I said, if you did somehow damage your RAM while cleaning it, it was probably from ESD (electrostatic discharge). But I'm not saying that's what happened, just a possibility.

Clearing your CMOS is actually a good idea. Turn off/unplug computer, and either remove the CMOS battery for a minute or short the Clear CMOS pins on your motherboard. This will reset your BIOS, which has helped me with a computer that wouldn't boot in the past.

Edit: oh, it sounds like the machine powers on and stays on, just don't get any video? Then I'd say it's less likely your RAM or mobo is damaged. Clearing your CMOS is still a decent place to start though.

@TJ tnx man that will probably help. Actually even I don't believe that my motherboard was damaged because I inserted ram wrong way I have a single ram and two slots I tried both. I can't possibly damage both at the same time. Also can you tell my fan is still spinning, is it possible with a dead motherboard or dead CMOS battery I don't know.
