i installed a new cpu, and now it says only 8 gb of ram is being used out of my 16

i got a new cpu recently for my birthday, and i had 16 gb working before. i use shadowplay to clip moments from games and share them or send to friends, and that always showed my specs, which included 16gb. Now it recognizes the new cpu, but only 8gb of ram. any ideas? thanks

Possible you bent some pins in the CPU socket.

I'd try reseating the ram first. Perhaps the sticks just need to get pushed back in.

Check the BIOS to see if that shows 16Gb, it may just be a firmware quirk misreporting your PC specs.
